The year was 2017. The month was April (we think?). The place was The White Horse Tavern, NYC.
The decision was to start a theatre company.
The Social Club is a Brooklyn-based theatre and performance art company founded with the goal of creating a tangible forum for young New York City artists to create, perform, and discuss our artwork and the ways in which we are inspired, affected by, and battling with the social, political, and cultural forces around us.
Inspired by the Beat Generation, the artists' salons of the 1920s and 30s, and other counterculture movements, The Social Club celebrates the diversity of the city around us and the powerful, unifying magic of telling good stories.
Our goal is to feature new works and creations alongside published pieces as well as readings, happenings, and parties. We would be honored if you would join us.
